Consult the Weekly Fishing Report before you go. Boils start off as "slurps" in mid-June and soon transition to full splashy boils of just a few fish to perhaps a couple thousand in a huge school. Topwater lures are the flavor of the day but spoons, crankbaits, swimbaits and jigs all work. this if the most exciting fishing in freshwater, bar none.
